'Shearing Shed Red' is an odd name for a wine, but for Dudley Partners the first
vintage all happened in a shearing shed, hence the name.
They first planted their vines in 1994 on the Dudley Peninsula at the eastern
end of Kangaroo Island, as an experiment.
The vines established themselves so well , that a few more hectares were planted
over the next couple of years
Currently producing 30 – 40 tonnes of fruit, the aim is to increase production
to 80-100 tonnes over the next couple of years
The Dudley Partners range includes a Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, two
Chardonnays - wooded and unwooded, plus a Riesling, and of course, the Shearing
Shed Red.
